Curtain Call Creative has a fantastic year ahead with 2 shows already in rehearsal and more to follow later in the year.

The Ryde-based School of Performing Arts welcomes students aged 7 to 18, offering workshops and classes taught by theater professionals and mentorship for those wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts.

Along the way, it also stages a great musical theater accompanied by live professional musicians. The costumes, set design and production are all done to professional standards.

After the success of ‘Fame – The Musical’ and ‘All Together Now’, older pupils are immersed in rehearsals for ‘Made in Dagenham’. The show will be presented at the Medina Theater on March 25, 26 and 27.

Inspired by a true story and based on the hit film, this is an uplifting British musical about friendship, love and the importance of standing up for what’s right. The story follows the women of a Dagenham factory in the late 1960s as they fight for equal rights; fighting against their union and business giant, Ford.

Next, junior students will bring “Alice in Wonderland” to the Medina Theater on May 1 at 6:00 p.m. and May 2 at 2:00 p.m. This musical new take on the timeless classic tale takes you down the rabbit hole with wacky characters, crazy tea parties, flamingo croquet and dancing playing cards, all set in a land where nothing is as it seems – perfect for high schools, regional theaters, and any theater providing family entertainment.

Light, funny, captivating – full of great songs and a story that reminds you that all it takes is a little imagination to find your way to Wonderland.

Ever Curious Alice, The White Rabbit, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, The Mad Hatter, The Caterpillar, The Fake Turtle, The Mysterious Cheshire Cat, The Scandalous Queen of Hearts and all your favorites from Lewis Carroll’s beloved books make it a magical, melodious and entertaining musical comedy for the whole family!

The group is also thrilled to announce that they have secured a special license to perform “Into the Woods” at the Shanklin Theater in July.
