The Hendrix completes construction at 331 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City

Exterior work is nearing completion on The Hendrix, a 41-story residential tower located at 331 Marin Boulevard in the Powerhouse Arts District of downtown Jersey City. Designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve and developed by The Albanese Group, the 400-foot-tall structure will produce 482 units, 121 parking spaces, a 125-seat theater and 14,000 square feet of equipment. Hatfield Group is the fronting consultant for the project, which is alternately addressed at 184 Morgan Street and is bounded by Marin Boulevard to the east, Morgan Street to the south, Grove Street to the west and Bay Street to the north.

As of our last update in December, the construction elevator was still attached to the wide east rise. This was completely dismantled and the gap in the curtain wall was filled. Some finishing is still in progress, notably on the sidewalks and around the entrance to the multi-story podium along the southern half of the property. Only a small portion of the metal fences and amenities remain, but they are expected to be removed in the coming weeks.

Several banners have been added around the lower levels announcing the property’s new name. The development was formerly known as “MGM Marin Boulevard”.

Close-ups of the façade show details of the metal panels dividing the glass surface every two or three stories in a staggered pattern.

The glass facade of 331 Marin Boulevard changes color depending on the lighting conditions and the perspective. Here, it is also seen side-by-side with its adjacent and recently completed neighbor, 351 Marin Boulevard.
