Ice! returns to Gaylord Palms with a Dr. Seuss theme for 2022

Ice! and his holiday-inspired ice sculptures have been on hiatus for two years, but will return to Gaylord Palms Resort November 18, 2022 through January 1, 2023, themed after the Dr. Seuss story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” ”

A team of 40 ice sculptors will once again travel from Harbin, China to Kissimmee, Florida six weeks prior to the event to create 10 vignettes themed around the Christmas classic “How The Grinch Stole Christmas!” using over two million pounds of ice.

The colorful ice sculptures they will carve ranged from a coin to a stage nearly 30 feet tall.

The Ice! the experience takes place in an area cooled to nine degrees Fahrenheit, and guests are given heated parkas to wear while visiting the attraction.

Ice! is part of the resort’s annual Gaylord Palms Christmas event, which also includes two-story ice slides, live sculpting demonstrations, holiday-themed shows, kid-friendly activities, and more.

While the sculptures – highlighted by a Nativity scene carved out of crystal clear ice – are the main event, there’s plenty more to enjoy during Christmas at Gaylord Palms.

Live shows and entertainment

“Circus: Spirit of Christmas” – Witness trapeze artists, aerial silk artists and acrobats whose feats are set to an original musical score during this 30-minute circus-style show featuring Noel, a young child in search of the deeper meaning of Christmas .

“The Greatest Story” – Watch the “greatest story ever told,” seen through the eyes of six international storytellers in this multicultural celebration of faith, hope and love.

“Shine” – The Gaylord Palms atrium and the giant Christmas tree within it light up in an extravaganza of LED curtain animations to a musical score.

“Adventure Kids: Wonders of Winter” – Follow Sophie and her friends Ava the alligator and Seth the sea turtle as they learn about wildlife and the environment, all with a Christmas twist.

“The Voyage of Los Tres Magos” – Through story and song, this live production pays homage to the date Jesus was visited by the Three Kings, a tradition honored in Latin America, Spain and around the world. The show will take place from December 26, 2022 to January 1. 1, 2023.

Activities

Jack Frost is once again messing around with new names for Santa’s “Naughty List,” and it’s up to guests to solve the puzzles that will keep their names off the list at Naughty or nice escape room.

snow factory is the perfect place for tubing, snowball throwing, cocktails at the Snow Bar, and a climb up Snow Flow Mountain for an inner tube ride to the bottom. Date-specific admission tickets include unlimited ice tube rides.

alpine village The shopping area features a Build-A-Bear workshop where customers can create a cuddly new best friend and participate in the Heart Ceremony. Seasonal items and accessories are also available at Alpine Village.

Enjoy the atmosphere

Gaylord Palms twinkles in the merry season with over 3 million lights and over 100 Christmas trees decked out in holiday adornments, including the 60-foot-tall tree in the main atrium. See them throughout the self-guided Christmas Tree Trail.

The party with Grinch The characterful breakfast buffet is full of holiday flavors that tempt even The Grinch and his little dog Max to attend. Advance reservations are required and the experience is only open to overnight guests.

Santa Claus meet guests and listen to their wish lists at Alpine Village from November 18 to December 24.

Mrs. Claus entertains guests with her story of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’, complete with milk and cookies, during Mrs. Claus Christmas Traditions.
