‘Hustle’, ‘Stranger Things 4’ dominate weekly movie, episodic streaming content – Reuters

The NBA season may be over, but an original basketball-themed movie Hustle continued to resonate with Netflix subscribers. The sports drama remained at the top of the English films chart for a second week with 57.19 million hours viewed.

As Adam Sandler’s most beloved film on Rotten Tomatoes, Hustle continued to receive praise from press and fans and made the Top 10 in 90 countries. spider headthe original psychological thriller debuted at No. 2 with 35.4 million hours viewed. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet, the film appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries.

After the opening night premiere of the Tribeca Film Festival, Jennifer Lopez documentary, half time, entered the list in fourth place with 18.88 million hours watched. When Netflix announced a second season and a reality game based on the South Korean global hit “Squid Game”, the first season of the show returned to the Top 10 non-English language TV channels with 7.48 million hours watched. New entrants to the list included a Brazilian comedy-drama, “Maldives” (11.3 million hours viewed) and season 2 of the Mexican comedy »The war next door » (7.71 million hours viewed). While the mainstays of the list, Spanish dramas”Privacy” (30.21 million hours viewed) and Our blues (15 million hours viewed), Spanish thriller »Wrong side of the tracks » (9.68 million hours viewed) and Turkish fiction »As the crow flies” (7.64 million hours of viewing), kept fans spellbound.

After four weeks,Stranger Things 4″ has not lost its power. The series remained at number one on the English TV list with 102.26 million hours viewed and appeared in the Top 10 in 93 countries. Season 4 was the most watched title this week and has now racked up 883.30 million hours viewed on the most popular list. Past seasons have gone well, ranking #4 (Season 3), #5 (Season 2), and #6 (Season 1).

Fans continued to explore both world wars, by order of the Peaky Blinders. The sixth and final season came second with 61.36 million hours viewed. Moreover, season 1 entered the list with 16.42 million hours viewed. “First Murder” is positioned in third place with 48.77 million hours viewed, appearing in the Top 10 in 83 countries. In its first week, “God’s Favorite Idiot”, starring Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy, has logged 22.48 million hours of viewing and has been in the Top 10 in 26 countries. Meanwhile, “Keep Sweet: Pray” and “Obey” and “Lincoln’s Lawyer” kept audiences tuned in with 27.64 million hours viewed and 17.55 million hours watched, respectively.

On the non-English film side, fans flocked to the new releases. Argentinian psychological thriller The wrath of God (17.23 million hours viewed), Spanish action-adventure centauro (13.87 million hours viewed) and Polish romantic comedy heart parade (12.4 million hours viewed) debuted in the top three spots on the list.
