Exterior work is ending on Lyra NYC at 555 West 38th Street in Hudson Yards, Manhattan
Construction is wrapping up on Lyra NYC, a 52-story residential skyscraper at 555 West 38th Street in Hudson Yards. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects with SLCE Architects as official architect and developed by Rockrose, the 570-foot-tall tower will produce 598 two-bedroom studio rental units. Site C GC is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Eleventh Avenue between West 38th Street and West 39th Street, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.
The curtain wall work has been completed since our last update in May, when a gap remained exposed in the south elevation where the construction lift had been attached. Most of the sidewalk scaffolding has also been taken down and replaced with orange and white barriers as the finishing touches wrap around the ground floor.
The ground floor facade is now visible, including the white marble walls facing Eleventh Avenue and framing the main entrance along West 38th Street. New sidewalks still need to be poured around the perimeter, after which the barricades and chain-link fences will be removed.
The Rental Gallery is now open on the first level facing Eleventh Avenue. The following photo highlights the appearance of the main entrance on the south elevation, with a revolving door flanked by two hinged doors. The marble frame around the door is trimmed in stainless steel, matching the spandrels of the curtain wall above.
Lyra NYC’s amenities include a residential sky lounge, golf simulator, squash court, fitness center, coworking stations and other features yet to be announced. The nearest subway is the 7 train at the 34th Street-Hudson Yards station in Bella Abzug Park to the south. The 1, 2, 3, A, C, and E, NJ Transit, and Amtrak trains are within walking distance east at Pennsylvania Station.
The project should be fully completed before the end of the year.
